this is because you can not be a messenger without being a prophet and because Mohammad was the last prophet then no more messengers should come
# where did u get that from, bud? i mean where did u read that one has to first be a prophet in order to be a messenger?

Salam mate
I tried to put it in a simple manner, I agree with you that it is poorly put that it makes it look flawed, what I meant that NOT EVERY NABI IS A RASOOL BUT EVERY RASOOL IS A NABI, this is because a Rasool from Allah still Yunabi with the good and bad news in addition to other tasks
anyway, I will consider the subject open on my side again and try to understand it again, please let me know what do you think the difference between a Rasool and a Nabi, and if there will be no more Nabis, will be any more Rasools?
this is just a side argument that I had on FFI, my main argument stays the same, those who received no messnegers may be allowed to have a plea "Hujja" with Allah

# ...on a similar note it can be said that every nabi has to be a rasul because he was sent (ursila) by god to convey the good and bad news!

# ...i dunno, bud...whether somebody warns or gives tidings or delivers a command, such a person would be comin from god n would thus be a rasul by default...that's wat i think...at the moment.

Salam bro
Yeh man I agree that a Rasool is someone who is sent by Allah, but I wonder why Ibrahim was never called Rasool?

# well...i couldn't find a direct verse where abraham is called a rasul...but i *think* v have enough verses which would allow him to be classified as one:
37:181 And Peace on the messengers!
this verse, which occurs towards the end of the 37th chapter, follows the narrations of various pious ones, and one of the narrations is that of abraham!
...also, it would exclude abraham!
2:97 Whoever is an enemy to Allah and His angels and messengers, to Gabriel and Michael,- Lo! Allah is an enemy to those who reject Faith.
...again, it would exclude abraham!
2:2845 The Messenger believeth in what hath been revealed to him from his Lord, as do the men of faith. Each one (of them) believeth in Allah, His angels, His books, and His messengers. "We make no distinction (they say) between one and another of His messengers." And they say: "We hear, and we obey: (We seek) Thy forgiveness, our Lord, and to Thee is the end of all journeys."
...again, belief in messengers; if v exclude abraham.....
...ofcourse, it may be that all of them are disputable...but still!
## now this verse has made me wonder:
2:136 Say ye: "We believe in Allah, and the revelation given to us, and to Abraham, Isma'il, Isaac, Jacob, and the Tribes, and that given to Moses and Jesus, and that given to (all) prophets from their Lord: We make no difference between one and another of them: And we bow to Allah (in Islam)."
...i dunno y...but the usage of nabi there has got me wonderin!

# i wonder if these verses make things any clearer:
57:26 And We sent Noah and Abraham, and established in their line Prophethood and Revelation: and some of them were on right guidance. But many of them became rebellious transgressors.
57:27 Then, in their wake, We followed them up with (others of) Our messengers: We sent after them Jesus the son of Mary, and bestowed on him the Gospel; and We ordained in the hearts of those who followed him Compassion and Mercy. But the Monasticism which they invented for themselves, We did not prescribe for them: (We commanded) only the seeking for the Good Pleasure of Allah; but that they did not foster as they should have done. Yet We bestowed, on those among them who believed, their (due) reward, but many of them are rebellious transgressors.

# in fact, if abraham was sent, then he becomes a mursaleen, and i think that qualifies him as a rasul...hmm?
...wat say?

Salam brother The
I actually agree totally with you regading Ibrahim, I guess the whole thing may be a test from Allah to see what the humans will do as any test of course
Indeed I always believed that ibrahim is a Rasool, and all the verses you posted indirectly incline that, I even have more in the article I started to write two years ago and never finsihed
I guess I have to pass on the subject as it wonlt do any good to me really, I will just take it that every Rasool is a Nabi
and based on that fact will it mean that because no more nabis there will be no more rasools?, a final and repeated question mate,

# yes...and as v can see from 57:26, abraham was from the mursaleen....and i think that should settle it....??

# if u take it that every rasul is a nabi, then yes, it would mean no more nabi and no more rasul!
